Are you an experienced Azure PaaS Architect looking to work on large-scale, high-impact cloud transformation programmes?

We're partnering with a major UK organisation operating at national scale to find a skilled Azure PaaS Technical Architect to help modernise critical digital services across scheduling, delivery, and customer engagement platforms.

This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver cloud-native, enterprise-grade solutions using Microsoft Azure PaaS technologies, working on complex systems that support millions of users across the UK.

The Role:

As an Azure PaaS Technical Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions. You'll play a hands-on architectural role while also providing technical leadership across engineering and DevOps teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing end-to-end Azure PaaS architectures for application migration and modernisation
  • Assessing legacy/on-premise environments and defining cloud migration strategies
  • Translating business and technical requirements into robust solution designs
  • Implementing Azure services including App Services, Azure Functions, API Management, Azure SQL, Service Bus, and related components
  • Working closely with development and DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
  • Ensuring best practices across security, scalability, performance, and cost optimisation
  • Providing technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to delivery teams

About You:

Essential experience:

  • Proven experience delivering Azure cloud migration and modernisation projects
  • Strong background in .NET Core, Angular, and SQL
  • Deep understanding of Azure IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services
  • Hands-on experience with Azure App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Azure SQL
  • Experience designing microservices and API-led architectures
  • Solid knowledge of Azure networking, identity, monitoring, and security
  • Experience using Azure Migrate and related tooling
  • Strong Infrastructure as Code experience (ARM, Bicep, or similar)

Desirable:

  • Azure certifications (e.g. AZ-305, AZ-104)
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and automated deployment pipelines
  • Strong understanding of Azure security best practices, including IAM and RBAC
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
