Data Modeler | Insurance Data Modernisation | Contract
We're looking for a Senior Data Modeler to join a large-scale insurance transformation programme focused on modernising Legacy data systems into structured, cloud-based data models aligned to a medallion architecture.
This role sits at the intersection of business and data, helping define how core insurance data is structured, mapped, and used across underwriting, claims, and wider enterprise reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models across complex insurance domains
- Work on source-to-target data mapping across Legacy insurance systems
- Translate business requirements into structured data models and definitions
- Support implementation of a medallion architecture (bronze/silver/gold layers)
- Ensure data quality, governance, and consistency across data models
- Collaborate with business, data engineers, and data product teams across transformation programmes
- Support cloud data platform optimisation (eg Databricks/Delta Lake/OneLake)
Key Skills:
- Strong experience as a Data Modeler in data-heavy environments
- Strong understanding of P&C/Specialty insurance or Lloyd's market data
- Hands-on experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling
- Strong SQL skills and exposure to UML/data modelling tools
- Experience working on data transformation or modernisation programmes
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and data lineage
- Strong stakeholder management across business and technical teams
Rate: Dependant on Experience (Inside IR35)
Location: London (3 days per week in office)
Duration: 6 months (rolling)
