Junior AI Solutions Architect

Junior AI Solutions Architect

In 1914, Ernest Shackleton placed an advertisement seeking men for his Antarctic expedition: "For hazardous journey into uncharted territory. Small wages. Long hours navigating complexity." Thousands responded. Today we seek a different kind of pioneer: one who can listen to where a client wants to go, draw the map that gets them there, and keep the expedition on course.

At We Are Pioneers, we don't just implement AI; we define what's possible for marketing agencies and brands. Our engineers build solutions that didn't exist yesterday, using Claude Code, custom agents, and live LLM deployments. But breakthroughs only matter if they solve the right problem, and someone has to translate ambition into a solution a business can actually use. That's where you come in.

The role

You'll sit at the interface between our clients and our engineers: understanding what a client actually needs (which is rarely what they first ask for), shaping that into business-outcome-focused solution designs, then project managing the work so it lands on time, in scope, and beyond expectation.

Your time will split deliberately:

  • 70% clients and project management. Run discovery sessions and translate needs into clear scopes, timelines, and deliverables. Run the delivery cadence: kick-offs, stand-ups, client updates, and reviews. Be a clear, trusted point of contact, tracking scope, budget, and risk, and flagging problems before they become problems.
  • 30% AI research and building. Research new models, agents, and tools as they emerge. Build an AI toolset that automates how we run projects: status reporting, meeting summaries, scoping, QA, and client comms. Build solutions alongside our engineers.

This is a junior role in title, not in ambition. We're not expecting a decade of delivery scars. We're expecting sharpness, structure, and a hunger to learn fast in territory where the maps are still being drawn.

You'll work from our London office 3 days per week, collaborating directly with the founder.

What we're looking for
  • Listens first, translates fast. You hear what a client is really trying to achieve and turn it into solution-focused outcomes.
  • A clear articulator. You make complex things simple without making them wrong, in writing and in person.
  • Organised by instinct. Plans, timelines, actions, owners. When something's blocked, you find a path around it yourself.
  • A genuinely progressive AI user. You've experimented with APIs, stood up an agent or automation, or shipped something with AI at its core, and you can talk credibly about LLMs, context windows, and where models fail.
  • Comfortable in ambiguity. Timelines shift, requirements evolve weekly, and clients ask for the impossible by next Tuesday.
  • Relentlessly curious. New tools are something to try this week, not read about next month.
Show us progressive AI use

We mean this literally. The strongest applicants can point to things they've actually done, such as: an automation connecting an LLM to other tools (Zapier, Make, n8n, or an API integration); an agent or multi-step workflow that completes a task end to end; a tool powered by an AI API (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar); a custom GPT or Claude Project a team relies on; or something shipped with Claude Code, Cursor, or Replit, even without a formal coding background.

If your honest answer to "what's the most advanced thing you've built with AI?" excites you, you're our kind of person. If it's "I use it to tidy up my writing," this probably isn't the role.

Experience

We care more about aptitude and evidence of doing than years on a CV. Ideally you'll bring:

  • Some experience supporting or managing digital, technical, or client-facing projects (internships and strong personal projects count)
  • Experience juggling multiple pieces of work or stakeholders, keeping everyone informed
  • Hands-on, progressive use of AI tools, with examples you can show us
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Marketing, agency, or media context (a bonus, not a requirement)
What you'll get
  • £25,000 - £28,000 salary
  • Direct mentorship from the founder, with real client exposure from day one
  • Protected time every week (30% of the role) to research and build with the newest AI tools
  • The chance to learn solution architecture at the frontier of AI, in a certified Anthropic Claude Partner
The honest truth

This role is not for everyone. Engineers will be deep in problems no one has solved before, clients will want certainty where there isn't any yet, and you'll be the one holding the thread between them. You'll work hard and be stretched. If you're the right person, that's the reason you're reading this.

How to apply

Apply through Reed with your CV and a cover letter that includes:

  • Examples of projects you've helped deliver: what shipped, the impact, and your part in it
  • The most advanced thing you've personally built or automated with AI, with a link to a demo, repo, or recording if you have one
  • Why you want to chart this course with us
Applications without point 2 won't be shortlisted, so make it count.
