Microsoft Dynamics Consultant

The Role

The D365 Sales & Marketing Consultant will support the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) with a focus on Sales and Marketing modules. The role involves translating business requirements into D365 solutions, ensuring alignment with SSE’s customer engagement and digital transformation objectives. The consultant will collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams to design, configure, and deploy scalable CRM capabilities.

Your responsibilities:

  • Requirement Analysis & Workshops: Engage with SSE business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document Sales & Marketing requirements.
  • Solution Design Support: Translate business needs into D365 CE functional designs aligned to Sales and Marketing capabilities.
  • Configuration & Customization: Configure D365 modules (Sales & Marketing), including entities, forms, views, dashboards, workflows, and Power Automate.
  • Customer Journey & Campaign Setup: Design and implement marketing campaigns, segmentation models, and customer journeys within D365.
  • Data & Integration Coordination: Support data migration activities and collaborate with technical teams on integrations (APIs/Azure services).
  • Agile Delivery Participation: Contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, user story definition, and iterative delivery.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Participate in SIT/UAT cycles, support defect triage, and ensure solution quality and business acceptance.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management: Prepare functional specifications, configuration guides, and user documentation.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with architects, developers, and SSE stakeholders across onshore/offshore teams.
  • Deployment & Hypercare Support: Assist in go-live activities, provide end-user training, and support stabilization during hypercare.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Strong expertise in D365 CE (Sales & Marketing) covering requirement gathering, solution design, and end‐to‐end CRM delivery.
  • Hands-on experience in D365 configuration, workflows, Power Automate, and Dataverse data modelling.
  • Proficient in marketing automation, customer journeys, campaign management, and sales pipeline optimization.
  • Experienced in integrations (APIs, Azure services) and data migration across enterprise systems.
  • Skilled in Agile delivery with onshore‐offshore coordination and stakeholder management.
  • Exposure to full project lifecycle including discovery, design, build, testing, deployment, and hypercare.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Experience with advanced D365 capabilities like Customer Insights, AI-driven segmentation, and real-time marketing.
  • Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid CRM ecosystems beyond standard D365 implementations.
  • Ability to drive business transformation consulting and value realization discussions.
  • Experience in ESG, compliance, and regulatory-driven CRM use cases.
  • Familiarity with advanced data analytics and visualization for business decision support (beyond basic reporting).
  • Experience working in large-scale transformation programs with multiple vendors and complex governance structures.
  • Strong domain understanding of utilities/energy processes, customer lifecycle, and regulatory requirements.
