Network Architect
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Network DNS Architect to design, implement, and manage enterprise-scale DNS infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in DNS architecture, network design, and security, with preference for candidates who are SC Cleared (Security Cleared). Candidates who are SC eligible will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect robust, scalable DNS infrastructures (on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments)
- Lead DNS strategy including high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery
- Manage and optimize enterprise DNS platforms (e.g., Infoblox, BIND, Microsoft DNS)
- Implement DNS security best practices including DNSSEC, DDoS mitigation, and threat protection
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards (especially UK government / secure environments)
- Troubleshoot complex DNS and network-related issues
- Collaborate with network, security, and cloud engineering teams
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to teams
- Develop documentation, standards, and operational procedures
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in DNS architecture and administration
- Deep understanding of:
- DNS protocols (UDP/TCP, recursive & authoritative DNS)
- IP networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching)
- Hands-on experience with:
- Infoblox, BIND, BlueCat, or Microsoft DNS
- Knowledge of network security principles
- Experience with load balancing, traffic management, and DNS-based routing
- Familiarity with cloud DNS solutions (AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, Google Cloud DNS)
- Proven ability to design high-availability systems
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- SC Clearance (active) – highly preferred
- SC Eligible candidates will also be considered
- Certifications such as:
- CCNP / CCIE
- Infoblox Certified Professional
- Microsoft / Azure certifications
- Experience in government, utilities, or regulated industries is an advantage
