Change and Transition Service Analyst

Weightmans' IT team plays a pivotal role in the firm's innovation strategy, enabling digital transformation across departments.

The IT Service Change & Transition Analyst will be responsible for IT transition activities such as IT change planning, enablement, release, transition and configuration activities in line with ITIL best practice.

The role requires Change enablement experience and ideally transition experience in a heavily audited environment along with ITIL knowledge.

This position reports into the Service Transition Manager who is responsible for development of transition activities and plans, alongside the administration of change, configuration and release management. This role will be instrumental in supporting the smooth transition of new or changed services into operation.

Change & Transition Management

  • Development of robust transition plans alongside project teams.
  • Ensure transition activities are carried out in a timely manner, and risks are highlighted to the Service Transition Manager and other key stakeholders.
  • Administer Service Management system (ITSM) for Change and Release Management
  • Support the administration of the Change Advisory Board (CAB) chairing the CAB when necessary.
  • Work alongside and support the wider IT team to ensure transition plans are adhered to.
  • Report on transition processes against targets.
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders to understand change impacts and service readiness criteria.

Configuration Management Database (CMDB)

  • Use the CMDB to identify and update impacted configuration items
  • Use change and transition data to improve the quality, completeness, and integrity of the CMDB, collaborating with Hybrid Platform, Modern Workplace, and Service teams.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with legal obligations, ISO standards, and internal security policies.
  • Maintain and use structured processes, technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge bases to support change and transition activities.

Project Delivery

  • Support project execution using Weightmans' project management framework, ensuring delivery to time, budget, and scope.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in project teams, supporting implementation and change initiatives relating to change and transition.

Continuous Improvement

  • Champion operational improvements using methodologies such as ITIL, Lean, or Six Sigma to enhance change and transition processes.

Ideally you will have previous experience of working in a similar role and in a similar environment. As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks. We are also looking for you to have:

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working in an IT environment with strong ITIL alignment, particularly Change and/or transition management.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and matrix management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.
  • Analytical skills for data validation, trend analysis, and process improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in creating effective reports and dashboards.
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate (Preferred)
