Kubernetes Engineer

We're supporting a major IT consultancy on a search for a Kubernetes Engineer, they are engaged with a global bank on a large-scale migration project, shifting from an on-prem Hadoop-based data platform to a Kubernetes-based batch processing infrastructure.

They are specifically looking for someone with strong on-prem Kubernetes deployment and management experience.

Role Details:

• Rate: £600/day (Inside IR35)
• Location: UK Remote
• Duration: Initial 6 months (extensions likely)
• Start: ASAP

Key Requirements:

• Strong understanding of Kubernetes internals, CNI/CSI, Helm, and Operators
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing on-prem Kubernetes clusters (not just cloud-based)
• Experience with big data platforms (Hadoop/Spark) and containerizing stateful workloads
• Strong grasp of Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD tooling, and observability (eg Grafana, ArgoCD/OpenTelemetry)
• Ability to clearly articulate technical decisions and tooling choices
