Digital and Technology Solutions Apprentice
Role
As a Digital & Technology Solutions Degree Apprentice at WSCC, you’ll gain real-world experience while contributing to impactful digital projects. You will:
- Support and contribute to IT projects across their full lifecycle
- Learn and apply skills in cybersecurity, data analysis, and software development
- Collaborate with professionals to deliver tech solutions for the council
- Assist in identifying and improving business processes
- Participate in system reviews, audits, and security assessments
- Communicate findings and ideas to stakeholders clearly and effectively
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems and requirements
- Take ownership of your learning and development throughout the apprenticeship
We currently have four Apprenticeship positions available. Upon completing your initial training, the following specialisms available will be:
- Cyber Security Analyst x 2 opportunities
- Data Analyst x 1 opportunity
- Network Engineer x 1 opportunity
Training
As part of this Degree Apprenticeship, you’ll complete structured training through the Open University, combining online learning - such as live webinars, recorded lectures, and digital resources - with practical, hands-on experience. Throughout your journey, you’ll be fully supported by West Sussex County Council, gaining guidance from experienced professionals and mentors to help you succeed both academically and in the workplace.
Although there are no guarantees, completion of this apprenticeship would place the successful applicant in a strong position in any suitable recruitment that may take place at the end of the programme.
