Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a GCP Cloud Developer based in Warwickshire for an initial 6 Month contract.

Role:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated GCP Cloud Developer with hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable cloud-based solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in developing serverless applications, managing cloud storage and databases, and integrating with APIs using Apigee.

Experience with Excel-based automation tools and version control systems like Azure DevOps is a strong plus.

Main responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy applications using Google Cloud Functions (Python or Node.js).
  • Implement and optimize data pipelines using Google Cloud Dataflow.
  • Manage and query relational databases using Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
  • Handle file operations and trigger-based workflows using Google Cloud Storage.
  • Configure and manage access controls using Google Cloud IAM (service accounts and permissions).
  • Integrate and manage APIs through Apigee API Management.
  • Work with Excel VBA macros and offline tools for automation tasks.
  • Maintain source code repositories and CI/CD pipelines using Git and Azure DevOps Repos.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver high-quality solutions.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

  • Proficiency in Python or Node.js for cloud function development.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services mentioned above.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native application design.
  • Familiarity with Apigee and API gateway configuration.
  • Working knowledge of Excel macros/VBA Scripting.
  • Good understanding of version control practices and tools like Azure DevOps Repos.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • GCP certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Developer.
  • Experience with CI/CD automation on cloud platforms.
  • Background in working with large datasets and ETL pipelines
