Network Engineer - SC Cleared

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Network Engineer - SC Cleared based in Berkshire for an initial 6 month contract.

* MUST HOLD ACTIVE SC CLEARANCE.*

* INSIDE IR35.*

Key Responsibilities

Design & Implementation:

• Plan, configure, and deploy network solutions (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN) to meet business requirements.

Maintenance & Optimization:

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and efficiency.

Security:

• Implement and maintain network security measures, including Firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and access controls.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with IT teams and vendors to support infrastructure projects and resolve escalated issues.

Upgrades & Patching:

• Perform regular updates and patches to network hardware and software.

Incident Response:

• Respond to network outages and security incidents promptly and effectively.

Strong knowledge of:

• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
• Network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, or similar).
• Firewalls and security appliances.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (eg, SolarWinds, Nagios)
• Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure) is a plus
• Relevant certifications (CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent).

Preferred Skills:

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
