Whitehall Resources currently require an experienced Oracle Fusion HCM Technical Architect to work with a key client
**Please note this role falls INSIDE IR35 and requires 3 days onsite in Crawley**
Functional Responsibilities
• Collaborate with business stakeholders (HR, Payroll, Benefits teams) to understand and translate requirements into scalable Oracle Fusion HCM solutions.
• Provide solution design oversight across key modules, Core HR, Payroll (UK), Absence Management, Benefits
• Ensure alignment of technical architecture with functional processes such as, Hire-to-retire lifecycle, Payroll processing, statutory compliance, and reporting, Leave, accruals, and absence policies, Employee benefits enrolment and eligibility
• Lead functional and technical design workshops, ensuring best practices and standardization.
• Review and validate functional design documents (FDDs) and solution designs.
• Support UAT and business validation, ensuring solutions meet business needs.
• Act as the key liaison between functional consultants, technical teams, and client stakeholders.
• Advise on process optimization and adoption of Oracle standard functionalities.
Technical Responsibilities
• Define and own end-to-end technical architecture for Oracle Fusion HCM applications.
• Design and oversee integrations across systems, including:
- Payroll providers, banking systems, and finance/GL
- Third-party benefits and absence systems
- Rostering/workforce systems (relevant for airline operations)
• Lead development and governance of:
- Fast Formulas (Payroll, Absence, Benefits)
- HCM Extracts and data interfaces
- BI Publisher and OTBI reports
• Architect and guide integrations using:
- REST/SOAP APIs
- Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) or other middleware
• Define and manage:
- Data migration strategy (HDL, HSDL)
- Data validation and reconciliation frameworks
• Ensure security architecture including roles, data access, and compliance.
• Handle performance tuning, scalability, and system reliability.
• Lead troubleshooting of complex issues across payroll calculations, absence accruals, and integrations.
• Manage Oracle quarterly releases:
- Impact assessment
- Regression planning
- Feature adoption
• Establish development standards, coding best practices, and governance.
• Support DevOps, release management, and environment strategy.
Experience & Qualifications
• 15+ years overall IT experience
• 8–10+ years in Oracle HCM (Fusion)
• 3+ Oracle Fusion HCM end-to-end implementations in a technical leadership/architect role
• Experience supporting large, complex enterprise environments (aviation, transport, or similar highly distributed workforce preferred)
• Strong expertise in:
- Oracle Fusion HCM architecture
- Payroll, Absence, Benefits, and Core HR modules
- Fast Formula development (Payroll & Absence critical)
- Integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, OIC)
- HCM Extracts, BI Publisher, OTBI
- HDL / HSDL data migration
- Payroll processing lifecycle
- Absence accruals and leave policies
- Benefits configuration and eligibility
