A leading technology and infrastructure services organisation is seeking an experienced Head of PMO & Operational Delivery to lead the successful delivery of a portfolio of high-profile customer projects across the UK.
This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for driving project governance, operational delivery, resource planning and performance management across a growing technology business. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards, whilst providing robust forecasting and reporting to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Project Management Office (PMO) function.
- Oversee the end-to-end delivery of multiple projects and programmes.
- Ensure effective governance across scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk.
- Develop and maintain accurate 3, 6 and 12-month delivery and resource forecasts.
- Work closely with operational, service delivery and commercial teams to achieve business objectives.
- Act as the senior escalation point for delivery-related issues and customer concerns.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency and project outcomes.
- Monitor project performance through KPIs, dashboards and management reporting.
- Optimise resource allocation and utilisation across delivery programmes.
- Lead, mentor and develop Project Managers and Service Delivery Managers.
About You
- PRINCE2 Practitioner qualified.
- Proven experience leading PMO, project delivery or programme delivery functions.
- Strong understanding of governance, project controls and delivery frameworks.
- Experience within technology, managed services, SaaS, infrastructure or related environments.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial management.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and client-facing skills.
- Experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
Desirable Experience
- ITIL certification or service management experience.
- Experience with project and service management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project or similar platforms.
- Exposure to large-scale, multi-stakeholder programmes.
