Diagnostic Transformation Lead (Digital)

Job summary

This role will have the responsibility for digital transformation of Diagnostic Services within ACW for Whittington Health, satellite sites, and linking with primary care and wider NCL Diagnostic initiatives. This will include interfaces and integration.

The post holder will ensure system use is optimised to deliver value or money and reduce unnecessary spend and improve safety.

The post holder will act autonomously to communicate with users of all supported systems and their suppliers to understand, troubleshoot and rectify problems.

The post holder will be an expert in the digital diagnostic system workflow and systems integration; they will be a subject matter expert, an applications specialist and have experience of managing a team of experts. They will play a key role in Trust strategic and wider NCL transformational projects which involve digital diagnostic systems, providing technical guidance and hands on support to suppliers and other project teams.

Additionally, the post holder will sit in a key interface position between clinical services, diagnostic services, local IMT services, primary care and NCL partners and on behalf of the organisation they will lead on Trust wide system and delivery of results and report sharing across the organisation and with external organisations.

The post holder will responsible for leading the delivery of digital transformation in line with NHS, ICB and key Trust strategies/initiatives.

Main duties of the job

Responsibility for the safe and effective operation of digital diagnostic services hosted by Whittington Health NHS Trust - ensuring value or money

Ensuring effective governance compliance and procedures are in place for systems and projects

Ensuring rapid and effective troubleshooting and procedures in place

Service planning, transformation, efficiency and productivity and development

Data collection and analysis to support centrally led initiatives (i.e. Right test Right time) and the NCL Digital Diagnostic Strategy drive diagnostic services forward

Ensuring Digital Diagnostic systems contribute to effective patient management across the trust and satellite sites and are configured in a way that they support the delivery of cost improvement

Effective project management

Responsible for overseeing the training of clinical and non-clinical staff who use relevant systems

Encourage the highest professional and technical skills in staff through personal example and constructive criticism.

To be responsible to the development of Policies that are directly related to relevant digital systems

To provide highly specialist technical services and advice to clinical staff.

Support training of new staff and existing staff in process and clinical risk inherent in the pathway to reduce clinical risk and data quality issues

Education

Essential
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Management qualification (or equivalent management experience)
Desirable
  • PRINCE2 in project management

  • Teaching and training skills with the ability to adapt training and teaching styles in response to the needs of the trainee
  • Team player with an enthusiasm for information technology with the ability to engage staff at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
