Job summary

As part of the NHS Modernisation Agenda, The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust has embarked on the challenging and exciting task of implementing a new inventory system aiming to have better practices and visibility of stock control, reducing costs and increasing patient safety through the Scan4Safety initiative.

The successful candidate will be a key player during the implementation stages helping with training, floor walking, data gathering, analytics, report creation, supporting and delivering high standards customer services to our end-users. The candidate will have experience in stock control, have great communication skills and be able to work as part of a team and independently.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Systems Support Assistant encompasses the following mainresponsibilities:- High levels of proactivity- IMS System support, guidance and training.- Catalogue management and Template management within IMS system.- Analysing data, interpreting and reporting results.- Advice and guidance based on results of analytical work.- Working on discreet projects, usually with other members of the Systems Team.- Reporting on live stock data and advising on par levels based on SOP's

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications

Essential
  • GCSE's or equivalent in at least 5 subjects including Maths and English
  • A Levels or equivalent.
  • Degree in IM&T related subject or relevant work experience (2 years +).

Skills & Abilities

Essential
  • Standard keyboard skills.
  • Ability to input, retrieve and manipulate data within information systems.
  • Good oral, written communication skills and pleasant telephone manner

Knowledge & Experience

Essential
  • Experience in setting-up and maintaining a computer database.
Desirable
  • Experience within a procurement department within the NHS
  • Experience and knowledge of NHS procedures, systems, legislation and guidance
  • Experience of using an e-procurement system in the workplace.
