The CompanyWilder Sensing is a fast-growing startup using AI-powered remote sensing to monitor biodiversity at scale. We help organisations better understand and protect ecosystems through cutting-edge bioacoustics and image analysis, with a focus on birds, bats and moths.
We are looking for a Business Development Executive to join our team. This is an entry-level role with strong development potential, ideal for someone with a background in ecology, zoology, or conservation who is keen to build a career in a commercial, client-facing environment.
The RoleYou will support our business development efforts, driving revenue growth and working with new & existing clients across sectors including regenerative agriculture, renewable energy, mining, professional consultancy, NGOs and habitat banks. You will gain hands-on experience in sales, strategic partnerships and client engagement, with training and support to build your commercial skillset.
As a small and fast-moving startup, this role comes with a high level of autonomy and responsibility. You will be trusted to take ownership of your work, manage your time effectively and contribute proactively to the team. Key Responsibilities- Identify and develop new business opportunities and partnerships
- Assist in preparing proposals, pitches and client communications
- Research new markets, sectors and prospective clients
- Maintain CRM systems and sales pipeline reporting
- Attend client meetings, industry events and conferences across the UK
- Work closely with the tech team to provide feedback on the client’s perspective
- Degree or background in ecology, zoology, conservation, or a related field
- Strong personal interest in biodiversity, particularly birds, bats, and/or moths
- Some experience in a commercial or client-facing role, for example in sales, consulting, or business development (preferred)
- Confident communicator with good interpersonal skills
- Proactive, organised, and eager to learn
- Comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment

- Experience in environmental consultancy or related sectors
- Familiarity with biodiversity monitoring, bioacoustics or ecological survey methods
- Previous experience in a sales or target-driven role
