Core Voice & Signalling Designer (Ericsson IP-STP / DSC)
We're hiring a senior Core Voice & Signalling Designer to join a WillowTech managed service team supporting a major UK telecom operator on an initial 2-year contract.
This is a hands-on role focused on the design and evolution of core voice and signalling platforms across legacy and next-generation networks.
What you'll be doing
- Producing HLDs and LLDs for Ericsson IP-STP and DSC (DRA/DEA) platforms
- Supporting core signalling and subscriber data solutions across legacy and 5G environments
- Developing and reviewing signalling configurations
- Performing capacity planning, traffic modelling, and network impact assessments
- Producing SORs and reviewing supplier SoCs and SOWs
- Supporting automated testing capabilities for 5G SA and legacy call flows
- Contributing to network evolution roadmaps and providing technical guidance to stakeholders, vendors, and project teams
Essential experience
- Ericsson IP-STP design experience
- Ericsson DSC (DRA/DEA) design experience
- Strong understanding of signalling configuration
- Expertise across SS7, SIGTRAN, SIP, Diameter, and MAP
- Experience producing HLDs and LLDs
- Capacity planning and traffic modelling experience
- Strong understanding of 2G, 3G, 4G, and IMS architectures
Desirable experience
- Nokia SDM or IMS
- HLR-FE (CUDB), HSS-FE (CUDB), or MNP
- Mavenir Signalling Firewall
- Oracle 5G SA technologies (SCP, NRF, SEPP)
- CNF/VNF environments on Red Hat OpenShift
