Business Analyst

We are currently seeking a BA / Customer Journey manager (CJM) to work at a leading client of ours in their front office team

This is a fantastic opportunity where you'll play a crucial role in product development by assisting the Product Owner (PO) and the feature teams in understanding, measuring and orchestrating Customer Journeys with a strong focus on technology.

Alongside the Engineering teams, the CJM plays a key role in making sense of customer insights and factoring it into prioritisation approaches and design choices.

The candidate must have a proven track record within financial markets and be able to rapidly grasp, interpret, and clearly articulate business changes required to optimise the end-to-end customer experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyse key themes using data from a wide range of sources and identify possible impacts on the business.
  • Integrate insights and knowledge from disparate data, processes and systems which are relevant to the customer's journey.
  • Collaborate with the POs and Engineers to ensure that the product backlog and roadmap are prioritised with the customer at the forefront of decision making.
  • Promote customer outcomes within the feature team and ensures work efforts achieve these.
  • Use customer input to present targeted, integrated, outcome-focused solutions and opportunities.
  • Anticipate customer's evolving needs and take action to define, plan and implement the best solutions.
  • Identify root causes of problems on behalf of the customers and have a structured approach in solving the highest priority problems by collaborating with various feature teams within the Risk and Finance lab.
  • Understand and co-ordinate cross functional alignment and deliver workstreams within the organisation's change management programme.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the customer's journey through experimentation.
  • Uncover emerging issues and effectively prioritise shorter vs longer term fixes.
  • Identify shortcomings, then suggest and implement improvements to existing processes or business practices.
  • Communicate with a variety of target populations, tailoring the tone and content to match the needs and expectations of each audience.
  • Ensure the needs of our customers are met within the context of larger organisational change programmes.
  • Take responsibility upskilling and mentoring junior colleagues.

What we need from you?

  • A solid knowledge of financial markets products across Rates, FX, Credit and Money Markets.
  • Detailed knowledge of the trade lifecycle, clearing and settlement of US Treasuries and USD Repo
  • Knowledge of the front to back-office control environment, governance and audit processes.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment, working with stakeholders and Engineering teams to bring together the respective competencies and collaborating to provide for successful outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; be comfortable in building relationships at all levels with stakeholders and in the technology space.
  • Be able to manage various streams of work independently and be comfortable with making priority calls in a changing environment whilst keeping our production systems stable.
  • Be comfortable accessing the various systems that feed into the pricing stack and confidently navigate the various downstream systems that our customers use for reporting or risk management purposes.
  • Have a growth learning mindset and is open to new experiences, being an early adopter of change and new technologies.
  • Understand the Engineering development life cycle, specifically the testing cycles and production release processes, to ensure that the team adheres to best practice, and the organisation's change, governance and risk frameworks.
  • Have a strong analytical mind and continuous improvement mindset as problem solving is fundamental to what we do as a feature team.
  • The role requires a deep understanding of our varied customer base which spans Front Office, Market Risk, Product Control as well as working closely with the Quantitative Research team.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Detailed knowledge of trade flow and risk management systems.
  • Previous experience of Apex, Summit, Murex would be beneficial
  • Strong general knowledge of repo and bonds products
  • Knowledge of regulatory reform being brought in by FICC
  • Proficient with Excel, JIRA and Visualisation tools
