Print Finishing Technician Apprentice Level 3
This role blends hands-on mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering with software, diagnostics, and machine control systems within the print finishing industry. You will be trained to install, maintain, repair, and optimise print finishing machinery, working closely with experienced engineers and a dedicated mentor.

Technical & Engineering Duties
- Assist with installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of print finishing machinery
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and control system issues
- Support preventative maintenance programs
- Work with mechanical, electrical, and electronic components
- Learn machine control software, HMI interfaces, and diagnostic tools
Software & Systems
- Support software configuration, updates, and fault analysis
- Learn how software integrates with mechanical and electrical systems
- Develop problem-solving and logical diagnostic skills
Training and Development
- Complete an Information Communication Technician Apprenticeship Level 3
- Gain British printing industry training and qualifications
- Undertake electrical engineering and electronics courses
- Receive on-the-job mentoring from an experienced engineer
- Build skills required for future international work assignments
- Willingness to learn both software and hands-on mechanical skills
Training
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.
Commitment to a long-term career path (5 years+)
This apprenticeship is designed to lead to a qualified Print Finishing Technician / Engineer role, with ongoing development into senior engineering, specialist software systems, or international technical support positions.
