Technical Sales Apprentice
Role
The Public Sector Business Development Associate will focus on generating new business opportunities within education and government. This role is ideal for motivated individuals looking to develop a career in IT sales.
The position is centred on outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and client engagement, building the foundations of long-term relationships with schools, colleges, councils, and government organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead Generation
- Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities via cold calling, email outreach, and networking.
Research and maintain a database of public sector prospects.
Book qualified meetings for Account Managers and the Head of Public Sector.
2. Client Engagement
- Make initial contact with schools, MATs, local authorities, and government departments.
- Understand client needs and introduce appropriate solutions from Integrated Tech’s portfolio.
- Support sales presentations and product demonstrations.
3. Sales Process Support
- Assist in managing the early stages of the sales cycle (lead → qualified opportunity).
- Work with senior colleagues to progress opportunities through to closure.
- Learn to negotiate terms in line with apprenticeship training.
4. Customer Relationship Management
- Build strong rapport with decision-makers and procurement teams.
- Provide excellent service to ensure satisfaction and repeat engagement.
5. Market Research & Development
- Stay up to date with education and government IT initiatives, procurement trends, and competitor activity.
- Share insights with the wider public sector team to shape strategy.
6. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate activity records in the CRM.
Produce weekly reports on lead generation and pipeline progress.
Training
All training for this apprenticeship is delivered online by Wise Origin, a national training provider established in 2006. Our expert-led, flexible sessions combine interactive learning and digital resources allowing apprentices to upskill while balancing their work commitments.
