Job Description

\n

At Wise, we want to make money move across borders easily and eventually free. Our team contributes to this with words — and we still have work to do.

\n

We are looking for an Arabic Localisation Specialist to join our global localisation team. The ideal candidate must possess native-level fluency in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA).

\n

Our localisation team is passionate about the Wise mission and wants to make sure that more countries and customers hear about it.

\n

We want our product to be easy to use and accessible, and to speak to our customers as if it was written in their language.

\n

This is a challenging and exciting role in which you will be able to localise and adapt our contents and also have the ability to come up with innovative ways of reaching new customers.

\n

What about the role?

\n

The role is based in our London office. You will work closely with the Localisation Project Management team and other Localisation Specialists based in our offices around the world.

\n

You need to have a passion for words, experience in localisation, and a deep technical understanding of introducing Right-to-Left (RTL) language frameworks to mobile and web products. You should be comfortable working on finance, product, and marketing content.

\n

This role will give you the opportunity to

\n

    \n
  • \nWork with product managers, developers, and localisation managers to help identify and solve problems\n
  • \n

  • \nEngage in creative processes and help Wise find its voice in Arabic\n
  • \n

  • \nResearch the local market and find ways for Wise to stand out\n

\n\n

Your mission

\n

    \n
  • \nLead the end-to-end localisation of the Wise App and web interface from English to Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), ensuring a natural, modern, and professional fintech user experience.\n
  • \n

  • \nLocalise Product/Marketing/Support contents from English to Arabic maintaining the correct meaning, context and tone of the source text whilst adapting it to your local language\n
  • \n

  • \nPartner with QA managers, product managers, engineers, and UX designers to perform thorough linguistic Quality Assurance (QA) and context testing, ensuring the app mirrors perfectly for RTL layout and readability.\n
  • \n

  • \nProofread and edit translated contents for linguistic accuracy and clarity\n
  • \n

  • \nCollaborate with the other localisation team members to promote synergies between markets or refine the tools, workflows or processes in use in the team\n
  • \n

  • \nLeverage user feedback, app reviews, and product data to continuously iterate and improve the quality of our Arabic content.\n
  • \n

  • \nIdentify, troubleshoot, and solve common internationalisation (i18n) and layout issues specific to Arabic and RTL languages (e.g., mixed Arabic/English strings, numbers, currencies, dates, names, addresses, and mirrored icons)\n
  • \n

  • \nPartner and collaborate with external vendors and freelancers to ensure expectations regarding tone, style, and deliverables are crystal clear and consistently met. \n
  • \n

  • \nEvaluate and report on vendor quality for a continuous improvement cycle \n
  • \n

  • \nDefine and establish Wise’s Arabic voice, balancing modern financial terminology with local cultural sensitivity across all platforms (app, web, marketing, and support).\n
  • \n

  • \nEstablish and maintain language glossary, guidelines and terminology for other language stakeholders and teams, and keep it accessible\n
  • \n

  • \nDefine guidelines for gender representation in the Arabic UI, balancing the grammatical constraints of the language with an inclusive, modern, and respectful customer experience.\n
  • \n

  • \nAct as the primary cultural and linguistic advisor for Wise's expansion into Arabic-speaking markets. You will champion the user experience, advising marketing, product and engineering teams on how regional users perceive financial tech, trust parameters, and UI design.\n
  • \n

  • \nIdentify and address growth opportunities with Arabic audiences\n

\n\n

A bit about you

\n

    \n
  • \nYou are an Arabic native speaker with a deep mastery of contemporary Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and have 2 to 3 years of experience in localisation\n

  • \n

  • \nYou have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English\n
  • \n
