Role Description
We are looking for a Field Engineer to join Wolverton Solutions Limited in a full-time role, primarily covering London and the South East of England, with flexibility to work from home when appropriate.
The role involves regular travel to client sites across London and the surrounding South East region. There may also be occasional requirements to travel elsewhere in the UK, depending on business and project needs. A full UK driving licence is therefore essential.
- Our Field Engineers carry out a wide range of technical work, including:
- Troubleshooting IT issues on-site and remotely
- Installing, configuring, and commissioning IT equipment and networks
- Providing field-based support and maintenance for routers, switches, PCs, servers, and EPOS systems
You will also support customers remotely and contribute to project work alongside our experienced technical team. The role requires a professional, customer-focused approach, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and to a high standard. Some paid overtime may be required from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a patient, methodical approach
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently and empathetically with clients and colleagues
- Experience in field service, an MSP environment, or IT / technical support (desirable)
- Working knowledge of networking and connectivity, including routers, broadband troubleshooting, Windows, macOS, and Android operating systems
- Understanding of basic networking concepts such as IP addressing, subnetting, and DNS
- Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and take ownership with a positive, can-do attitude
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, degree, or equivalent practical experience) are desirable
- Full, valid UK driving licence required
