Work Lyf Group are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our Staffordshire-based client for an experienced Website Administrator to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with strong WordPress and WooCommerce experience who enjoys managing websites, product catalogues and online content.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will take ownership of the day-to-day management of the company's WordPress website, ensuring products and content are accurate, up to date and performing effectively.
Please note: This is not a developer role. The successful candidate will not be responsible for coding, website development, themes or plugin creation. Technical development and specialist SEO activity are managed by external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day administration of the WordPress and WooCommerce website.
- Maintain plugins, themes, updates, backups, website security and hosting-related issues.
- Upload, maintain and update product information, including descriptions, specifications, images, datasheets and manuals.
- Organise and maintain product categories, attributes and brand pages.
- Review manufacturer websites to identify missing, incorrect or out-of-date product information.
- Utilise AI tools such as Claude to support content creation and product uploads while ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Manage end-of-life products and ensure suitable replacement products are promoted.
- Upload news articles and product launches for approval.
- Troubleshoot website issues including broken links, page errors, forms and email notifications.
- Support basic SEO activities including page titles, meta descriptions, redirects and image optimisation.
- Monitor website performance and maintain records of catalogue updates.
- Liaise with external SEO, development and hosting providers regarding technical requirements.
- Create and maintain documentation and procedures to support business continuity.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Several years' experience managing the back end of a WordPress website.
- Strong WooCommerce or similar eCommerce platform experience.
- Experience managing and maintaining large product catalogues.
- Practical experience using AI tools such as Claude within a working environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Experience resolving website issues, plugin conflicts and update-related problems.
- Ability to follow established procedures and identify process improvements.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively prioritise workload.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS and basic PHP.
- Experience using Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Familiarity with SEO tools such as Yoast.
- Experience with CSV and bulk product imports.
- Basic image editing and PDF handling experience.
- Experience using project management or task-tracking software.
- Previous experience within a B2B, technology or engineering environment.
Salary & Benefits
£30,000 - £37,000 per annum depending on experience.
