Editorial Analyst (Remote)

  • Job Title: Editorial Analyst (Remote)
    • Employment Type: Remote, part-time independent contractor
    • Location: Remote within United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia & New Zealand (You must be legally authorised to work in the country where you are based)
    • Compensation: $15 - $18 per hour based on location, experience, responsibilities, and performance.

Role Overview: We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients, a leading global player in the AI space. This remote, part-time contract role sits at the intersection of language arts and data analysis. You will be responsible for rigorously analyzing the quality of AI-generated text, treating language as data that needs to be refined and optimized. You will apply editorial standards to evaluate model performance, identifying linguistic trends, correcting errors, and providing structured feedback to improve the AI's ability to communicate effectively.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyze batches of AI-generated responses to identify recurring patterns of error, such as repetitive phrasing, tonal inconsistencies, or grammatical degradation.
    • Edit and rewrite content to meet high editorial standards, ensuring clarity, conciseness, and adherence to specific style guides.
    • Perform comparative analysis (A/B testing) of different model outputs to determine which response best satisfies the user's intent and explain the "why" behind your decision.
    • Classify and tag text data based on specific linguistic attributes (e.g., formal vs. informal, objective vs. subjective) to help structure training datasets.
    • Verify factual claims and logical coherence within the text, ensuring the model provides accurate and reasoned information.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in a role requiring both writing proficiency and analytical thinking (e.g., Editorial Assistant, Copy Editor, Content Analyst).
    • Exceptional command of English grammar and syntax, with the ability to objectively critique writing quality.
    • Strong analytical mindset: ability to spot trends in data/text and articulate complex problems clearly.
    • Meticulous attention to detail for both proofreading and adhering to complex project guidelines.
    • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment, managing time across multiple projects.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    • Rate: Earn up to $18 USD/hr (Rates vary based on project complexity and expertise).
    • Flexibility: 100% remote with no fixed schedule. Contributors typically spend 5–10 hours per week, with the option to work up to 40 hours.

Equal Opportunity Employer: We're committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and celebrate diversity in our workforce.
