EMIS System Administrator (INTERNAL)

This role provides support and expertise to our trust services that use the EMIS system for electronic patient records. This role encompasses providing support to the EMIS Systems Manager in Clinic management, ensuring WVT's Directory of Services is up to date and outpatient KPI's are configured according to the Trust Access Policy.

Ensuring community contact profiles, teams and all members of staff are configured to enable staff to work autonomously. This role is responsible for providing support for configuration allowing patient activity to be fully recorded, working to ensure income generation, data quality and Information Governance requirements are met.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for maintaining the EMIS IT system for our community service users and teams. To adapt the systems to meet the needs of services, including development of templates to improve reports available from the system.
  • To be skilled with the operation of the EMIS Systems and to keep updated on all enhancements/revisions to the system ensuring that own training requirements are regularly updated.
  • Manage daily requirements for new builds or updates as instructed by the EMIS Systems Manager to support service users and services.
  • To act as a point of escalation for more complex user support issues to provide advice and support to EMIS end users.
  • Highlight any change requirements to the EMIS Systems Manager making recommendations as appropriate.
  • With the EMIS Systems Manager and the training and support teams ensure that within the Trust any changes/new data requirements are communicated to the end users.
  • To support with creation of training and user support material on the EMIS system under the direction of the EMIS Systems Manager in collaboration with the training team.
  • To action Data Quality queries including but not limited to address queries, reports from the Information team and regular automated data quality reports.
  • To assist in the process for Data Quality Audits, the investigating, documenting of potential problems and creation of databases or spreadsheets for regular reporting
  • To participate in the clinical systems out of hours / on call rota.

Education & Qualifications

Essential
  • NVQ level 4, foundation level qualification or Higher national diploma in IT or equivalent experience
  • GCSE Maths & English

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Essential
  • Excellent IT/Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Knowledge of Trust EPR Systems, such as EMIS/Maxims

Experience

Essential
  • Experience of working in the health and social care
