X4 Technology are partnered with a well-backed commodity trading firm in London offering an exciting outside IR35 contract opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst.
You'll play a key role in a major platform transformation of their trading platform, helping to evolve their Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) landscape.
The successful candidate will work closely with front-office stakeholders to capture and refine requirements across front-to-back trading processes. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the onboarding of new products and implementing configuration changes within the ETRM platforms for Oil trading (Amphora Symphony) and LNG trading (PlanLogic EOS).
The role has a strong functional focus on trade risk (covering valuations, curves, VaR calculations, pricing and related areas), as well as operational processes, ensuring seamless and efficient trading workflows. This is a high-impact position where your insights will directly influence the evolution of a leading commodity trading platform.
Requirements for the Contract Business Analyst (Commodities)
- Proven experience as Business Analyst within commodities trading
- Strong understanding of either oil trading (crude, biofuels, petchem, etc) or LNG trading lifecycle, with end-to-end knowledge of trading processes
- Hands-on experience with ETRM platforms is highly desirable (alternatively, deep functional expertise in Oil and/or LNG trading is essential)
- Solid experience across both trade risk and operational processes
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable working with front office users in a fast-paced trading-floor environment
