X4 Technology is partnered with a global energy organisation investing heavily in enterprise data, AI and digital transformation. They’re offering the opportunity for a contract Principal Metadata Management Lead to join their central Enterprise Data Management team who drive data governance, metadata strategy and AI-ready data capabilities at enterprise scale.
This is a senior individual contributor role focused on enterprise metadata management, data governance and catalogue strategy, with a strong emphasis on Collibra and enterprise data discovery capabilities.
You will act as the organisation’s lead SME across metadata, lineage, stewardship and governance operating models, helping shape how data and AI assets are discovered, governed and reused across the business.
Responsibilities of the Contract Principal Metadata Management Lead
- Lead the evolution of the enterprise data catalogue and metadata ecosystem
- Drive adoption and best practice across metadata management and governance
- Translate business requirements into scalable Collibra solutions
- Partner with engineering teams and the Collibra vendor on roadmap and capability development
- Act as Product Owner for enterprise catalogue capabilities and associated UI products
- Support AI readiness and future metadata analytics initiatives
- Engage senior stakeholders across business and technology functions
Requirements for the Contract Principal Metadata Management Lead
- Extensive enterprise data governance and metadata management experience
- Deep hands-on expertise with Collibra (Ranger level)
- Strong understanding of Collibra asset models, lineage, workflows and metadata integration
- Experience working in large, complex organisations
- Ability to translate governance requirements into technical solutions
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Nice to have: Databricks / Unity Catalog experience
