We are currently seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer (1st/2nd Line) to join a leading financial services client based in Central London (EC2) on an initial 3-month contract.

This is a fully onsite position, requiring attendance 5 days per week, supporting end users in a fast-paced and professional financial environment. The successful candidate will be available for an immediate start and will possess excellent communication skills alongside strong technical support experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line desktop support to end users across the business.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Support and troubleshoot Windows 10 and Windows 11 environments.
  • Administer and support Active Directory user accounts, groups, and permissions.
  • Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 (O365) applications and services.
  • Manage and resolve incidents and service requests through a ticketing system.
  • Perform device setup, deployment, and user onboarding activities.
  • Escalate complex issues where required and maintain accurate documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a 1st/2nd Line Desktop Support role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  • Experience supporting Active Directory environments.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft 365 (O365) administration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with ITSM/ticketing systems.
  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, customer-focused approach with the ability to support senior stakeholders.
  • Experience within financial services or a corporate environment is highly desirable.
