X4 Technology are partnered with a global energy trading organisation to appoint an experienced Contract Programme Test Manager. The successful candidate will take ownership of end-to-end testing across a major Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) platform transformation programme.

This strategic initiative supports front-to-back trading operations across physical and financial energy markets, covering trade capture, scheduling, nominations, settlements, risk management, market data, valuation, P&L reporting and regulatory compliance.

The position will be responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity and operational readiness of both standard ETRM platform capabilities and bespoke developments, with a strong focus on QA governance, business process assurance and production deployment readiness.

Responsibilities of the Programme Test Manager (Energy Trading)

• Own and deliver the programme-wide test strategy, governance framework, SIT, UAT and regression testing activities
• Validate end-to-end trading workflows across front, middle and back-office functions, including trade lifecycle management, risk, scheduling and settlements
• Drive quality assurance across both core ETRM platform functionality and customised trading solutions
• Manage defect triage, test execution, test environments and cross-system integration testing
• Coordinate testing activities across trading, risk, operations, finance and technology stakeholders
• Lead go-live readiness assessments, deployment planning and hypercare support following production releases
• Ensure testing coverage across critical integrations including market data providers, exchanges, risk systems, reporting platforms and ERP solutions

Requirements for the Programme Test Manager (Energy Trading)

• Demonstrable experience leading testing workstreams on large-scale ETRM, CTRM or commodities trading transformation programmes
• Strong understanding of energy trading operations, including physical and/or financial power, gas, LNG, oil or renewable products
• Strong knowledge of trade lifecycle processes, risk management, settlements, accounting and regulatory reporting
• Experience managing testing across both packaged software implementations and custom-developed solutions
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across trading, risk and technology teams
