My client are seeking an experienced data management professional to lead their Supply Chain and Manufacturing data stewardship initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving high-quality, well-governed data across procurement, production, logistics, and distribution processes, ensuring that data is accurate, consistent, and AI-ready. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with global and regional business functions, technology teams, and analytics experts to embed data governance, improve data quality, and enable advanced analytics and AI-driven decision-making across the supply chain and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of a data and AI stewardship strategy for the Supply Chain and Manufacturing domain.
- Ensure high-quality, well-governed data across procurement, production, logistics, and distribution processes.
- Establish and maintain standards and ownership for key data objects such as Material, Vendor, Inventory, and Production data.
- Partner with global and regional business functions to resolve data issues and drive consistency across markets and systems.
- Collaborate with technology and architecture teams to embed data governance into ERP and supply chain platforms.
- Build and manage a pipeline of data quality and AI-readiness initiatives, tracking progress through clear KPIs and scorecards.
- Work with analytics and data science teams to make supply chain data structured, accurate, and AI-ready.
- Maintain robust documentation, data definitions, and metadata for key processes and data flows.
- Ensure compliance with governance policies, sustainability standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Promote data literacy and stewardship practices across supply chain, manufacturing, and operations teams.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
- Strong background in data management, governance, or stewardship, preferably within supply chain, manufacturing, or operations environments.
- Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA and related platforms such as planning, manufacturing execution, or logistics systems.
- Proven ability to define and maintain data standards, ownership models, and metadata frameworks across complex organisations.
- Experience analysing and improving data quality, collaborating with both business and technical teams to resolve issues and enhance accuracy.
- Understanding of how data supports AI and advanced analytics such as predictive maintenance, demand planning, or network optimisation.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience working across global and regional teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail, process discipline, and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with data governance or data quality tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation) and KPI-driven performance tracking.
- Degree in Data Management, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in consumer goods, food production, or manufacturing industries is an advantage.
