Job Title: SC Cleared Network Engineer

Job Type: Contract

Location: Nottingham (5 days a week on-site)

Day Rate: £300/day (INSIDE IR35)

Contract Length: 12 months

SC Cleared Network Engineer - Role & Responsibilities

• Provide 1st–3rd line BAU support for Cisco-based network infrastructure
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network incidents and problems, ensuring availability, performance, and security within agreed SLAs.
• Perform network configuration, maintenance, patching, and minor design changes in line with change management and security best practices.
• Work with internal teams and third-party vendors to diagnose complex issues, support service continuity, and implement permanent fixes.
• Maintain accurate network documentation and diagrams, contribute to continuous service improvement, and provide knowledge sharing and escalation support across support teams.

SC Cleared Network Engineer Engineer - Required Experience

• Active SC Clearance
• Cisco routing and switching technologies, including VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and TCP/IP networking.
• Experience supporting enterprise LAN, WAN, and wireless environments, including VPNs, firewalls, QoS, and network security principles.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues across 1st–3rd line support, using monitoring tools and packet analysis where required.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based service management, including incident, problem, and change management in a BAU operational environment.
• Relevant Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP or equivalent experience) with strong documentation skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
