Web Developer
Role: Web Developer
Location: Wickford, 2 days a week onsite
Salary: Up to £60,000 depending on experience
A UK‐based software development company that builds enterprise solutions for the insurance sector are seeking a creative, detail-oriented Web Developer to join their team. You'll be working across the full tech stack to enhance web offerings and deliver an ambitious digital roadmap.
Responsibilities:
- Writing efficient code using best practice for software development
- Creating websites using different languages such as HTML and CSS
- Working with Programmers and Web Designers to create a website that matches the visual design intent
- Communicating with business colleagues to gather and refine requirements and specifications for content development within agreed-upon timelines
- Researching a variety of software programs
- Creating and maintaining the documentation for software used
- Improving and enhancing websites after they have been created
Experience & Education:
- 5+ years of web development experience preferred (Insurance background is a bonus!)
- Proficient in C#, ASP.NET/Core, MVC, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON
- Experience debugging, profiling, and deploying web applications
- Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- Familiarity with UI frameworks (Vue.js, React, AngularJS, Knockout) and IIS is a plus
Skills:
- Strong coding, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects
- Basic SEO knowledge and awareness of web security best practices
- Familiarity with mobile applications, operating systems, and browsers
