Electronic & Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our engineering team at a point where we are developing our mechanical and wider engineering capabilities. We are looking for someone who is curious, practical and keen to learn.

Role

Due to the nature of this role you must be 18 years or older and hold a full UK driving license.

Are you curious about how things work and interested in technology, design and manufacturing? We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Apprentice to join our team and develop a broad range of practical engineering skills while working alongside experienced engineers and technicians.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering environment, learning about design, manufacturing, testing and problem-solving while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

You will gain experience across a variety of engineering activities, including CAD design, prototyping, testing, assembly and maintenance. You will learn how to read engineering drawings, operate specialist equipment and develop the technical knowledge needed for a successful career in engineering.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Learning to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Developing skills in CAD and engineering design software.
  • Operating 3D printers and using slicing software.
  • Supporting research, development and testing activities.
  • Building and assembling mechanical, electronic and prototype systems.
  • Conducting laboratory testing, recording results and analysing data.
  • Developing fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Supporting the maintenance of workshop and laboratory equipment.
  • Following quality, health and safety standards and company procedures.

Training

Following successful completion of your apprenticeship, there may be opportunities to continue your professional development with XENINT. Depending on your interests, performance and chosen career pathway, this could include progressing towards a degree-level engineering apprenticeship or developing further as an experienced technician, with the potential to progress into a Lead Technician role.
