Software Engineer - Ultra-Low Latency Market Making - Prop Trading Desk

We are looking for a Software Engineer to the Ultra-Low Latency (ULL) Market Making team within this rapidly expanding Prop Trading firm based in London. This is a hands-on engineering role at the frontier of high-performance trading systems

What You'll Do

• Design and implement modern C++ (C+/23) applications for ultra-low latency trading.
• Optimize performance at the CPU, kernel, and network stack level to minimize latency and maximize throughput.
• Engineer and maintain Linux-based systems tuned for high-frequency trading workloads.
• Develop and refine TCP/IP networking solutions for market connectivity.
• Collaborate with traders, researchers, and engineers to deliver robust, production-ready systems.
• Explore opportunities to integrate AI/ML techniques into trading workflows, from signal generation to system optimization.

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency in modern C++ (17+) with a focus on performance-critical applications.
• Deep understanding of CPU architecture, cache optimization, memory management, and instruction pipelines.
• Exposure to Linux kernel-level programming and tuning.
• Solid knowledge of TCP/IP networking and experience building high-throughput, low-latency network applications.
• Proven track record of developing real-time, high-performance systems (finance, gaming, or similar).
• Beneficial: Experience with FPGA/ASIC development for hardware acceleration.
• Beneficial: Exposure to AI/ML integration in performance-sensitive environments.
• Bonus: Familiarity with kernel bypass technologies (DPDK, RDMA, Solarflare, etc.).
