Senior Linux HPC Systems Administrator / Engineer Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire (hybrid/onsite)
Onsite: 3 days/week onsite+ able to attend site at short notice (hands-on hardware support)
My client islooking for aSenior Linux HPC SysAdmin/Engineer(minimum10 years enterprise ITexperience) to support aLinux-based high-performance/scientific computing environment. Youll providehands-on onsite supportto technical/scientific users, maintaining critical infrastructure and high-end workstations.

Key responsibilities
- Administer, configure and supportRed Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8/9)environments (stability, performance, security)
- Supporthigh-end workstationsand resolve hardware/software issues onsite
- SupportHPC environmentsincludingclusteringandworkload management (Slurm)
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues (includingGPU / networkingimpact)
- UseServiceNowfor incident/change/ticket management and drive process improvements
- ManageSSL certificatesand assist withweb server configurationwhere required
- Work closely with stakeholders and vendors; communicate technical topics clearly and build strong working relationships
- 10+ yearsenterprise IT, with strong hands-onRHEL (8 & 9)administration
- Experience supportingscientific users/applicationsand/or research computing environments
- HPC exposure:Slurm,clusters, and general HPC operations/support
- Strong troubleshooting acrossLinux, hardware and applications
- Confident stakeholder communication (onsite support is a key part of the role)
- ServiceNow experience
- Broader knowledge ofnetworking, performance monitoring tooling, andGPU technologies
