About the Role
We're proud to be partnering with a forward-thinking organisation to recruit their first-ever IT Vendor Manager - a strategic hire that will shape how technology is sourced, managed, and delivered across the business.
This is a unique opportunity to build and lead the IT supply chain function from the ground up. You'll be responsible for managing vendor relationships, optimising IT asset lifecycles, and driving financial and operational excellence across hardware, software, and services.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor & Relationship Management
- Build and nurture strategic partnerships with key IT suppliers.
- Lead vendor performance reviews and act as the escalation point for delivery or service issues.
- Collaborate with Procurement to resolve critical vendor matters.
Supply Chain & Asset Lifecycle Management
- Oversee the full lifecycle of IT assets - from sourcing to disposal.
- Work with IT to maintain optimal inventory levels and reduce excess stock.
Financial & Operational Excellence
- Partner with Finance and Procurement to manage the IT purchasing budget.
- Identify and report on cost savings and value-add initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and legal standards.
- Streamline and automate ordering processes for scalability.
What We're Looking For:
Essential Experience & Skills
- 5-7 years in IT sourcing, vendor management, or supply chain roles.
- Proven success negotiating contracts across IT categories (hardware, software, cloud, telecoms).
- Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, IT, or related field.
- CIPS or CPSM certification.
- Familiarity with ITAM/ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Lansweeper).
