SQL Developer
SQL Developer (Contract)- Inside IR35- Remote- Up to £400 per day - Manchester
We're currently supporting a large-scale technology programme and are looking to speak with experienced SQL Developers for a number of long-term contract opportunities.
These roles sit within a high-performing engineering and data environment working on large-scale platforms, business-critical systems and high-volume transactional data. The work is fast paced, highly collaborative and suited to contractors who are comfortable operating across complex SQL environments.
The Opportunity
You'll be joining teams focused on the development, optimisation and support of SQL-based applications, databases and data solutions used across core business systems.
Depending on the specific team placement, responsibilities may include:
- Writing, optimising and maintaining complex SQL queries, stored procedures and database objects
- Supporting the design and development of scalable SQL Server solutions
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting across large datasets and high-throughput systems
- Working closely with developers, analysts and wider engineering teams to deliver business-critical projects
- Supporting data integration, reporting and operational workflows
- Contributing to database design, deployment and ongoing maintenance activities
- Ensuring code quality, reliability and performance across production environments
What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial experience with Microsoft SQL Server
- Advanced T-SQL development skills
- Experience writing and optimising complex queries, stored procedures and functions
- Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimisation
- Experience working within enterprise-scale or high-transaction environments
- Understanding of data modelling and relational database principles
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable Experience
Any exposure to the following would be beneficial:
- SSIS/ETL development
- .NET or C# exposure
- Azure data technologies
- CI/CD or DevOps tooling
- Experience within highly regulated or data-heavy environments
