Senior Python Engineer

Senior Python Engineer | AWS | Terraform | SC Cleared | 12 months | Inside IR35

You'll join a highly skilled engineering team responsible for building, maintaining and improving a cloud-native platform that underpins the secure exchange of critical data. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on software quality, platform engineering and modern DevOps practices.

Requirements:

• Strong commercial Python development experience.
• Experience building applications within AWS cloud environments.
• Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code experience.
• CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions preferred).
• Strong understanding of secure software development and modern engineering practices.
• Active transferable SC Clearance and Sole British National status are essential.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain secure, production-grade Python applications.
• Build and improve cloud-native solutions within AWS.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (or similar).
• Create and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Support platform reliability, observability and incident investigations.
• Work closely with engineering teams to improve security, automation and software

Contract Details:

• Inside IR35
• Long-term contract (12 months+)
• Hybrid - approximately 1 day per month in Leeds
• On-call rota (approximately 1 week in 6 once up to speed)
