The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of our financial operations and become a trusted commercial advisor to our CEO and leadership team. This is a hands-on role where you'll maintain complete oversight of our financial position across two divisions and international operations, while positioning us for our next phase of growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll be the company's financial authority—ensuring accurate, timely management information that drives strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Control & Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive financial records and accounting systems, ensuring all transactions are accurately reflected in real-time
• Produce monthly management accounts, including divisional reporting for our two business units
• Prepare year-end financial schedules supporting P&L and Balance Sheet positions, including US subsidiary reporting
• Deliver financial evaluations and commercial analysis to support strategic initiatives

Strategic Financial Planning

• Coordinate and prepare annual budgets with phased sales and cost forecasts
• Develop detailed cash flow projections for the full year ahead
• Provide commercial assessments and advice on contractual matters to the CEO and department heads

Cash Management & Operations

• Direct cash collection operations and maintain tight control over daily cash flow
• Optimise cash collection processes and minimise working capital requirements
• Supervise and guide the Office Manager who handles day-to-day bookkeeping and collections

Governance & Compliance

• Maintain statutory books and fulfil all company secretarial duties
• Liaise with bankers and lenders, providing reports and information as required
• Ensure compliance across UK and US operations

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

• Proven track record in company financial reporting, management accounts, and business reporting
• Strong general accounting knowledge with hands-on experience
• Previous experience as a senior financial officer in an SME environment highly desirable
• Sharp commercial acumen with understanding of business operations

Key Skills

• Exceptional cash management instincts and working capital optimisation
• Strong supervisory and communication abilities
• Self-motivated with the flexibility to respond to varied requirements
• Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA or ACMA)
