eRostering Support Officer
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and adaptable individual to work in the eRostering Team.
The role involves assisting the eRostering Systems Manager and eRostering Team Leader to ensure the delivery of a high quality service and to provide support to the overall administration, configuration and maintenance of the HealthRoster software, including support to any future implementations in new areas.
The post holder will be able to communicate effectively to a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders at all levels. They will have a thorough understanding of the HealthRoster software and provide efficient and customer-focused support to system users. The successful individual will be able to respond to requests for assistance, be able to maintain the system on a day-to-day basis and provide troubleshooting.
The successful individual will also be able to support and promote the on-going use of eRostering throughout the Trust via direct training - delivering this to new and existing product users. They will support and provide software configuration and maintenance, and advise on effective eRostering practice, while remaining organisational policy compliant.
Main duties of the job
- To assist the eRostering Team Leader in the monitoring and maintenance of the full system training package which will include the maintenance of virtual learning environments and assisting in the creation of course materials.
- Provide day to day line management and support to junior members of the team and ensure issues are escalated appropriately.
- To ensure that the Trust's eRostering system is configured appropriately to meet any locally defined criteria in support of safer staffing requirements and rostering performance (key performance indicators). This will necessitate strong collaboration and engagement with operational service leads to ensure that the data is of high quality and consistent.
- Responsible for undertaking eRostering system developments, i.e. template builds/pattern changes, which require the configuration of rules, complex shift patterns and SafeCare configurations to support the departmental needs. This will require working closely with finance colleagues and budget holders to ensure such changes occur within the budgeted establishment of these areas.
- To ensure that the users of the application are able to use it efficiently and effectively, appropriate to their levels of permission, to support their service delivery.
- To ensure all data within the eRostering system is up-to-date, accurate and consistent. Working closely with the eRostering Administrator and our colleagues to correct any discrepancies identified between ESR data and HealthRoster data.

Person Specification
Experience
- Strong understanding of IT software packages such as Word, Excel, and Outlook with the ability to find solutions independently.
- Proven administrative experience working in a complex organisational environment.
- Previous experience of dealing with sensitive and/or complex situations.
- Experience of the Allocate Software package; HealthRoster, SafeCare and Employee Online tools.
- Experience of working within the NHS
Qualifications
- Educated to NVQ Level 4/5, BTEC Level HND/C or equivalent level qualification.
Skills
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to the needs of the service.
- Have a positive and flexible approach
- Effective negotiation and influencing skills utilising tact and persuasion.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organisation and with differing levels of systems knowledge.
