Up to £120k + bonus + equity (or open to contract)

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and building high-performance, real-time backend systems that power automated lab operations
• Working with Python and high-performance languages to develop scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
• Deploying services across cloud, bare-metal, and edge environments
• Collaborating closely with robotics, platform, and data teams
• Driving architecture, design, and performance improvements across the stack

What We're Looking For

• Strong backend engineering experience in Python plus one high-performance language (C++, Rust, or Go preferred)
• Proven experience building distributed or real-time systems at scale
• Familiarity with cloud-native systems (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Bonus points for experience in robotics, IoT, or automation environments
• Strong problem-solving mindset and a desire to work on technically complex, impactful products
