An established UK software vendor specialising in accountancy practice technology is seeking an Account Executive to support its continued growth across the UK accounting sector.

The organisation provides a suite of cloud-based software solutions designed specifically for accounting firms, including tax return production, accounts production, practice management, workflow automation and compliance tools. These solutions help accounting practices streamline client work, automate regulatory processes and improve operational efficiency across their firms.

With a strong reputation in the accounting technology market and an expanding product platform, the business is looking to appoint a commercially driven Account Executive to focus on winning new customers across the mid-market accounting firm segment.

Role Overview

The Account Executive will be responsible for driving new business growth by selling the company's software platform to mid-market accounting firms across the UK.

The role focuses on managing the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to contract close, working closely with partners, directors and senior stakeholders within accounting practices. The successful candidate will position the platform as a strategic solution that improves efficiency, compliance and workflow across accounting firms.

This role is fully remote within the United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business revenue by acquiring mid-market accounting firm customers
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through to negotiation and close
  • Build relationships with partners, directors and senior decision makers within accounting firms
  • Conduct consultative sales conversations to understand firm operations, workflows and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrate the value of the company's software platform, including tax compliance, accounts production, practice management and workflow tools
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities across the mid-market accounting sector
  • Deliver product demonstrations and commercial proposals tailored to client needs
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management and forecasting within the CRM
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales development teams to convert inbound and outbound opportunities
  • Work closely with Customer Success teams to ensure a smooth handover and strong customer onboarding

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in an Account Executive or New Business Sales role within a B2B SaaS environment
  • Proven track record of closing new business deals with mid-market customers
  • Experience selling software solutions into accounting firms, accountancy practices or the professional services sector
  • Strong understanding of the accounting technology ecosystem, including tax, accounts production, practice management or workflow software
  • Experience managing full sales cycles from discovery through to contract negotiation and close
  • Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to engage with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organised with strong pipeline and forecasting discipline

Desirable Experience

  • Experience selling accounting practice software or tax compliance solutions
  • Knowledge of accounting firm workflows, including tax submissions, accounts preparation and client management processes
  • Experience selling into mid-sized accounting firms across the UK
