Senior Software Engineer – Avionics (On-site – Linköping Region) We’re supporting a long-term development programme within the avionics sector and are looking to engage a Senior Software Engineers to join an on-site team in the Linköping region. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a strong background in embedded software for safety-critical systems, particularly within aerospace or airborne platforms.The assignment involves working closely with cross-functional engineering teams on the development, validation, and certification of complex avionics systems.Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with avionics and systems engineers to analyse and refine software requirements
- Review, author, and maintain documentation in accordance with DO-178C standards
- Participate in code reviews and support development tasks, with around 30% hands-on programming in C
- Contribute to architecture-level discussions relating to IMA platforms, CPIOM modules, and AFDX (ARINC 664) networks
- Assist internal teams in aligning design, documentation, and testing activities with certification standards
- Provide technical guidance and help identify areas for improvement or risk within the software lifecycle
- 5+ years in avionics software development, airborne systems, or aeronautical engineering
- Extensive C programming skills in embedded or safety-critical systems
- Working knowledge of DO-178C (at least one full year of experience)
- Familiarity with IMA, CPIOM, AFDX networks, or ARINC 664 protocols
- Strong grasp of software development processes, particularly requirements engineering and documentation
- Previous involvement in BITE systems or aircraft diagnostics is a plus
- Exposure to Python for testing or automation is desirable
- Confident communicator with a collaborative working style
- €550 – €750 / day depending on experience
- On-site, full-time – Linköping Region, Sweden
- Long-term/12 month contract engagement on a high-profile project
