WHO IS THE BUSINESS
We are supporting a London-based AI start-up that operates at the cutting edge of data-driven growth. Backed by a top-level fund, it sits at the intersection of consultancy and venture, scaling through both organic growth and M&A. The business has moved early in AI adoption across all of its operations and is looking to bring the same thinking into its finance function.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Reporting to the Group CFO, you will own and lead end-to-end finance operations for this start-up. You will build and manage AI-driven finance agents to handle routine processes, including billing, payment runs, payroll and VAT, acting as the human-in-the-loop where judgement is required. Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, management accounts, board packs, investor reporting and cash flow forecasting all sit with you, as do compliance obligations: VAT returns, annual accounts, R&D claims and statutory filings across multiple geographies. Beyond the operational, you will lead process improvement, system migrations and finance dashboard builds as the group continues to grow.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Demonstrable experience designing and deploying AI-driven or automated finance processes
- Strong data and modelling skills; able to architect solutions with light technical support
- Multi-currency accounting and group consolidations experience
- Comfortable managing statutory compliance across multiple entities: VAT, annual accounts, R&D claims and filings
- Experience preparing management accounts, board packs, investor reporting and cash flow forecasts
- Proven ability to operate autonomously in a fast-moving, scaling business
- Prior exposure to a group or portfolio structure is advantageous
