Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Electronic Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on innovative Energy Storage and Battery Technologies for a range of demanding applications.

The role covers the full product development lifecycle, from electronic architecture and circuit design through to PCB design, prototyping, testing, manufacture, deployment, and ongoing product support.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3-years of commercial experience in electronic hardware design and development, with an ability to take ownership of designs and deliver reliable and manufacturable products. 

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop and support analogue and digital electronic circuits for Energy Storage and Battery Technology applications.
  • Create, review and maintain PCB schematics and layouts using Altium Designer.
  • Select and evaluate components based on technical, reliability, availability and commercial requirements, including BOMs and component libraries.
  • Contribute to prototype assembly, PCB bring-up, testing, validation and hardware debugging using laboratory test equipment.
  • Identify root causes of complex hardware issues and implement robust corrective actions.
  • Apply DFM, DFA and DFT principles, considering EMC, signal integrity, reliability and manufacturability.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test procedures and design reports.
  • Collaborate with software, firmware and mechanical teams, as well as manufacturers and suppliers, to support designs through to production and provide technical guidance where appropriate.
Required Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with 3+ years’ commercial experience in electronic hardware design and development.
  • Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronic design principles.
  • Proven experience designing PCBs from schematic capture through to layout and manufacture, ideally using Altium Designer.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB design considerations including EMC & signal integrity.
  • Experience selecting electronic components and balancing performance, reliability, cost and availability.
  • Practical experience with PCB bring-up, hardware validation, fault finding, root-cause analysis and electronic test equipment.
  • Experience taking electronic products from prototype through to production, with an understanding of DFM, DFT and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interpret technical documentation and work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
