Business Central Pre-Sales Architect
Overview of position
The Business Central Sales Architect plays a pivotal role in driving the successful positioning, scoping, and solution design of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central projects. Acting as a bridge between sales, solution delivery, and the customer, this role blends deep product expertise, strong communication skills, and commercial awareness to shape solutions that deliver measurable business value.

Key Performance Areas
Pre-Sales & Solution Design:
- Lead discovery sessions to understand client requirements, business processes, and strategic objectives.
- Design high-level Business Central architectures that align with customer needs and organisational best practices.
- Create compelling solution demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and product walkthroughs tailored to industry and customer context.
- Prepare solution proposals, scope documents, and effort estimates in collaboration with delivery leads.
- Provide strategic guidance on Business Central capabilities, integrations, licensing, and roadmap. Sales Enablement
- Support sales teams with technical expertise during qualification, RFP responses, and customer presentations.
- Act as the subject-matter expert (SME) on Business Central for internal teams, ensuring consistent solution messaging.
- Contribute to the creation of sales assets: demo environments, templates, presentations, business cases, and value frameworks.
Customer Engagement:
- Build trusted advisor relationships with customers, influencing decision-making and guiding them through their digital transformation journey.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities early in the sales cycle, ensuring smooth transition into delivery.
- Advise customers on best practices, change readiness, and adoption strategies. Collaboration & Governance
- Work closely with functional consultants, technical architects, and project managers to validate scope, estimates, and delivery feasibility.
- Support handover to delivery teams with clearly defined solution architecture and documentation.
- Stay current with Microsoft product updates, industry trends, and partner ecosystem innovations.
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in a pre-sales or technical consulting role within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Strong understanding of Business Central functionality, configuration, and integration.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical delivery teams and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable Experience:
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including configuration, core modules, and extension capabilities.
- Proven experience in pre‐sales, solution architecture, or functional consultancy.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Experience producing high‐quality documentation: solution designs, scopes, proposals, and sales collateral.
- Knowledge of integrations, APIs, Power Platform, and the broader Dynamics 365 ecosystem.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance customer needs with delivery constraints.
