Copilot Solutions Engineer
Purpose of the role
The Copilot Solution Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and delivering innovative Copilot solutions, with a strong emphasis on building agent-driven automations for diverse client needs. This role bridges presales, consulting, technical development, and delivery, ensuring that each Copilot implementation is robust, secure, and tailored to drive measurable business outcomes.
Collaborating closely with internal teams and external partners, the Copilot Solution Engineer transforms complex challenges into practical, scalable solutions. From time to time the engineer may need to advise on and work with other AI technologies as client needs arise. By guiding clients through every stage, from discovery and solution design to deployment and optimisation, this role is key to the ongoing growth and success of the team and the wider organisation.
Responsibilities
Presales Engagement & Solution Design
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify client requirements and business challenges, translating them into innovative AI and cloud-based solutions leveraging Copilot, Microsoft Azure, AI services, and related technologies.
- Work with the team lead to prepare and deliver tailored demonstrations, proposals, and detailed solution documents to articulate the value of AI offerings.
- Work with customers to gather comprehensive technical and business requirements, shaping solution strategies accordingly.
Solution Architecture & Scoping
- Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective AI solutions, covering areas such as data platforms, machine learning models, cloud-native applications, and hybrid integrations.
- Develop architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation roadmaps aligned with customer environments and business goals.
- Estimate project scope, timelines, budget, and resource requirements, collaborating closely with the project management, team leadership and finance teams.
Project Delivery
- Lead the implementation of AI solutions, ensuring adherence to agreed scope, timelines, and high-quality delivery standards.
- Configure AI services, relevant components, and integration workflows according to approved designs, applying best practices for performance, security, and maintainability.
- Produce clear handover documentation and provide comprehensive knowledge transfer sessions to clients and internal teams.
Client Relationship & Support
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the project lifecycle and post-delivery, offering guidance on optimisation, further adoption of AI services, and strategic technology planning.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers, consultants, and analysts to build internal AI capabilities.
- Engage proactively with client stakeholders to gather feedback, measure satisfaction, and identify opportunities for future enhancements or new initiatives.
Collaboration & Internal Contributions
- Work cross-functionally with product, security, and operations teams to ensure AI solutions are seamlessly integrated into the organisation's overall service portfolio.
- Maintain a sense of commercial awareness to drive continuous improvement of solution profitability and market competitiveness. Consistently seek out fresh opportunities for both the AI team and the broader Zenzero group within client organisations.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of reusable solution assets, frameworks, and documentation to streamline delivery and promote best practices across future projects
Key skills/Experience
- Deep understanding and experience developing solution using the Power Platform suite
- Experience developing Copilot Agents using Copilot Studio
- Must hold Microsoft Applied Skills: Create agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio certification
- Must hold Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate
- Presales and consultative experience, must be able to clearly communicate and engage with clients
