Technical Test Manager, Automation Framework Design, JAVA, SDET, ISQTB, Remote
We are seeking a Technical Test Manager to join a global Professional Services organization. While based in Central London, this role is primarily remote. Travel to London, Europe, and the US may be required, with expenses reimbursed.
Important: Candidates must have experience setting up a test automation framework from scratch using Java. Applicants without this specific experience will not be suitable.
The initial focus of this role involves modernizing a significant desktop application for cloud and mobile platforms. Future projects will follow, but this is the current priority.
Key requirements include:
- Proven experience in establishing test automation frameworks from scratch using Java.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging with senior C-Suite executives globally. Flexibility for early/late calls is necessary.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- University degree in Information Technology or related field, with vendor certifications such as ISQTB.
- 10+ years in delivering IT services within complex environments, with hands-on QA process knowledge.
- At least 5 years in team leadership or management roles.
- Over 4 years in automated testing of software applications.
- Extensive knowledge of testing methodologies across functional and non-functional areas.
- Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with testing tools like ISTQB, ISEB, QAI, ALM, ADO, etc.
- Ability to develop Quality Strategies, Policies, and Test Plans.
- Experience implementing quality management frameworks.
- Proficiency with test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience with automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, LoadRunner.
- Knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices.
- At least 3 years’ experience with ITIL or similar Service Management frameworks, including service delivery and support, preferably with ServiceNow.
Additional qualities:
- Ability to quickly learn new service elements.
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, initiative, and integrity.
- Knowledge of quality standards like ISO9001.
- Excellent interpersonal and English communication skills.
