Information Technology System Engineer (Surrey)

Our client is an established and growing IT services and communications organization with an opportunity for an IT Systems Engineer to join their team based out of the offices in Redhill, Surrey.

In this role, you will provide technical expertise on their clients' IT infrastructure, in addition to the organisation's corporate IT infrastructure - implementation, management, support & administration. The role will cover server and networking environments.

Experience working within an MSP - IT managed service provider environment is sought for this role. You will also need to be eligible for UK SC level security clearance - or currently hold SC level clearance - (5 year min UK residency/ referenceable work history).

Key role responsibilities:

  • Implementation, management, support & administration of IT Infrastructure including Windows Server, VMWare, IT security, Desktop environments, IP networking, routing, switching, firewalls
  • Build & configuration of Server, desktop & networking equipment
  • Adhering to change controls & security policies
  • Once established within the environment, participation in the 24/7 support rota
  • Project-based work as required

Key Skills required:

  • Degree/ HND/ HNC in IT/ Engineering or related OR 3+ years equivalent experience
  • MSP background (IT managed service provider)
  • Windows Server 2019/2022 - build, configuration & troubleshooting experience
  • VMWare - build, High Availability, configure, and troubleshoot
  • Windows 10/11 desktop environments - build, patching, troubleshooting
  • IT Security - anti-virus, firewalls
  • TCP/IP networking - routing, switching, firewall, including layer 7 firewalls

Additional skills of interest:

  • Experience with any of: Endpoint Central, Veeam, PRTG
  • Microsoft certifications
  • Project planning/ delivery
