Delivery System Engineer (Manchester Area)

Who we are looking for

A Delivery System Engineer, who will take responsibility for providing and supporting the applications and systems used to deliver enhancements to our product portfolio.

You will play a vital role in the Software Development function. This will involve managing key application tooling, automating server build processes and developing in-house applications to meet Business needs.

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Well organised with effective time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple streams of activity and shift focus regularly.
  • Ability to adapt as the technology landscape evolves rapidly and adjust to new tools, processes and challenges.
  • Experienced and effective communicator, both written and verbally, in both technical and non-technical subjects to all stakeholders.
  • Strong appreciation of the importance of knowledge sharing, coaching and mentoring.
  • Proactive and willing to contribute ideas.
  • Experienced in Linux systems administration, Version Control (Git), scripting languages, such as Bash, Python or Groovy.
  • Knowledge of automation products and experience in at least one: Jenkins or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, such as GCP, AWS. As well as knowledge and experience of containerisation Docker or Podman.

Main Responsibilities

  • Managing key application tooling used by the Development function, such as AI, Code Analysis, Version Control and Package Management.
  • Automating server build processes and provisioning.
  • Developing in-house applications to meet Business demands.
  • Ensuring application availability and resolve related issues.
  • Collaborating with Tech Owners to create custom workflows and scripts.
  • Identifying and implementing automation initiatives for efficiency.
  • Keeping up to date with new processes and technologies.
  • Providing and maintaining test environments for software releases.
