Google Workspace Support Specialist (Contract - Outside IR35)

Location: Onsite - London

Contract Length: 4-6 weeks

Start Date: 25th May 2026

Day Rate: £150-£250 per day (Outside IR35)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and approachable Google Workspace Expert to support employees following a major internal Google transformation project. This is a hands-on contract role focused on real-time user support, floor walking, troubleshooting, training reinforcement, and driving user adoption across the full Google Workspace suite.

You will act as the go-to person for all Google-related queries, helping employees transition smoothly to new ways of working and ensuring a positive end-user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite “floor walking” support to employees following the Google transformation rollout
  • Deliver real-time troubleshooting and user assistance across the full Google Workspace suite including:
  • Gmail/Google Sheet/Google Docs/Google Slides/Google Drive/Google Meet/Google Calendar/Google Chat
  • Support users with day-to-day operational queries, technical issues, and best practices
  • Assist with adoption and change management activities
  • Guide users on collaboration features, file sharing, permissions, and productivity tools
  • Troubleshoot account, syncing, access, and application-related issues
  • Escalate complex technical problems to relevant IT teams where required
  • Create quick reference guides and support documentation where needed
  • Build strong relationships with users and provide a high level of customer service
  • Gather common issues and feedback to support continuous improvement

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Workspace / G Suite
  • Previous experience supporting users during digital transformation or migration projects
  • Excellent knowledge of Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Drive, Meet, and Calendar
  • Proven experience in floor walking, desk-side support, or IT support environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Calm and professional approach in fast-paced environments
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Experience working in enterprise or corporate environments preferred

Desirable

  • Google Workspace certifications
  • Experience supporting migration projects from Microsoft 365 to Google Workspace
  • ITIL or service desk experience
  • Change management or training support experience
